Ways to Donate to FAND
The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is a member-driven association. You can support our efforts in many ways. Financial donations provide support in these areas:
- FAND Political Committee Fund
- FAND Lobbyist & Public Policy Efforts
- FAND Foundation (FANDF)
FAND Political Committee Fund
Donations make it possible for us to support pro-nutrition candidates for state office and reach key congressional leaders. 100% of donations (minus credit card processing fee) are used for campaign contributions to political candidates likely to advance the interests of the dietetics profession. The fund is a separate segregated fund of an established association as classified by the Florida Division of Elections. Donations to the FAND Political Committee are regulated, limited, and reportable political contributions to candidates and campaigns that fall under Federal Election (FEC) regulations.
Contributions are NOT tax-deductible. Federal law requires Political Committees to report the name and mailing address of each individual (please include at the time of checkout). Occupation of the contributor is also required for contributions over $100. Federal law prohibits Political Committees from accepting corporate money; therefore, donations from your business account cannot be accepted.
Donations via check may be sent to:

FAND Lobbyist & Public Policy Efforts
FAND contracts a Lobbyist group to ensure direct and active representation of our profession to Florida law makers. Their efforts were critically important and highly effective during the 2020 challenge to our Dietetics Practice Act. All donations to this fund will be used to ensure FAND can continue to hire lobbyists as well as engage in public policy initiatives such as Legislative Day Workshop. Your contribution will directly enable FAND to defend our licensure law, lead public policy initiatives related to food and nutrition and advance the dietetics profession. Through your action and support, we can continue to expand our reach, build relationships with legislators and other professionals, and stay current with legislation impacting Florida dietitians.
