FAND Scholarship and Stipends

The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (FANDF) offers scholarships and stipends to Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members. They are awarded to further education, obtain certifications, gain leadership skills, and involved in professional activities.

Sister Helen Marie Pellicer Scholarship

 

This scholarship was established in 1969 in memory of Sister Helen Marie Pellicer.

Amount of Award: $1000

Number Awarded: 1

Qualifications: Junior or senior undergraduate student in dietetics

FAND Presidents Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1975

Amount Awarded: $1500

Number Awarded: 1

Qualifications: Graduate student in dietetics or Registered Dietitian working towards a Masters/PHD to enhance his/her career in dietetics

Clara Augustine Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2012

Amount of Award: $1000

Number Awarded: 1

Qualifications: Accepted or enrolled in MPH, DrPH, masters or doctoral program with an EMPHASIS in community nutrition

Gail Kauwell Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2018

Amount of Award:  $1000

Number awarded: 1

Qualifications:  Graduate student accepted or enrolled in a graduate-level dietetic internship program with a GPA minimum grade point averge of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

Christine Stapell Legislative Day Stipend

Amount of Award: $100

Number Awarded: 5

Qualifications: Members that are first-time attendees

Purpose: To attend and participate in Legislative Day

Florida Symposium Stipend

Amount of Award: Registration Fee

Number Awarded: 3

Qualifications: Any RD member can apply

STIPEND DEADLINE: TBD

Purpose: To assist any RD member in attending the virtual symposium in March.

How you will be awarded: All awarded recipients will be notified prior to the deadline for early-bird registration.

Awardees will be reimbursed upon proof of registration.

Qualifications: Any dietetics student can apply.

Florida Symposium Student Stipend Application

 

FNCE Stipend

Amount of Award: Up to $500 towards expenses which can include registration, travel, and lodging. Please fill out the reimbursement for up to $500, which is found in the link below. When submitting the form. Please also submit paid receipts for items asking for.

Number Awarded: 3

Qualifications: Any member can apply

STIPEND DEADLINE: TBD

Purpose: To assist members in attending the AND annual meeting to network and participate in educational sessions to grow in the profession

How you will be awarded: All awarded recipients will be notified prior to the deadline for early-bird registration. Awardees will be reimbursed upon proof of registration.

FNCE Stipend Application

Scholarship requirements that must be met for an application to be considered:

  • Complete the scholarship application and submit online. Click here
  • Upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts as part of your application for (see above). If you have trouble, please reach out to scholarships@eatrightflorida.org.
  • At least 1 reference needs to be received for each application. The person completing the reference needs to click here to complete it.

Scholarship criteria for Sister Helen Marie Pellicer, FAND Presidents, Kauwell Dietetic Intern, and Clara Augustine Scholarships:

  • US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Student continuing education for at least one additional academic term following application deadline.
  • Dietetic Intern candidate accepted into a program or currently in a program.
  • Accepted or enrolled in an approved program in the state of Florida. 
  • Anticipating practice in the field of dietetics.
  • Applicants should have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • References and statement of goals indicate professional potential and commitment to excellence in dietetics.
