Answers to Challenge Questions

Describe one strategy you might use to recruit a diverse pool of candidates.

I am currently working within UF Health with the wonderful opportunity to provide as a preceptor which allows for connections/networking to be made each year with a new emerging group of dietitians. As well as, with my specialization in nutrition support and transplant I have exposure to multiple other associations within the profession of dietetics to reach a diverse population that is currently working within the field.

As a member of the Nominating Committee you would need to solicit potential nominees for office.  What exposure with local, state, and national dietetics associations would help you to solicit nominations for candidates?

Since relocating to Florida I have had the opportunity to work in two different types of clinical nutrition settings. I have previous teammates in the outpatient setting from my previous position at The Villages Health and currently inpatient/outpatient setting working at UF Health. Both positions include several team members and connections from a variety of clinical exposures. Also, with the specialization in nutrition support with a CNSC certification and working with a transplant population both of which have their own associations/groups increases my exposure to two different areas within the field. These connections can be made during the national conferences both of these groups hold and provide me exposure both state and nationwide.
