Answers to Challenge Questions
The Member-at-Large serves as the member advocate, representing FAND member opinions and views to the FAND Board of Directors. This person serves as a leader to the regions/districts for member recruitment and retention. What strategies would you use to enhance communication with the membership and foster member engagement in various aspects of FAND’s mission? How do you measure outcomes?
I would definitely utilize social media to encourage communication and engagement. I think offering a free registration to the annual Florida Academy annual meeting in Orlando as prize where members earn an entry into a drawing for each local event they participate in. I would measure outcomes utilizing survey monkey.
What strategies would you take for ensuring that leadership is cultivated among members of FAND?
I think encouraging mentor/mentee relationships would be very helpful to foster leadership development as well as inviting veteran RDs to speak for a short about how they have overcome challenges in their careers at chapter meetings would be helpful.
