The main role of the President Elect of the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is to support the President and assist with any duties and services. The President Elect serves as a member of the Board of Directors and is responsible to perform the functions of the office of President in the President's absence or when the President is unable to perform functions of the President as determined by the Board.
The President Elect also serves as a member of the Fiscal Affairs Committee and serves as the Vice Chair of the Florida Academy Public Policy Panel.
It is also the responsibility of the President Elect to appoint the chairmen and members of all the committees that will serve during the President Elect's term as President.
A major responsibility of the office is to assist in the planning and preparations for the Annual Meeting and to listen to the membership for ways to improve our profession through incorporation of new methods of communication and education.
The key to the future membership is to continue to engage our newer members and mentor them in various leadership positions. We must stay involved with Public Policy in order to carry out our mission of promoting improved nutrition in the communities that we serve.
Please feel free to contact me with your questions or ideas for improvement. Together we can continue to make Florida a healthier place to live and a more rewarding place to work.
